What network does Champva use?
Pharmacies that are a part of the SXC Health Solutions, Inc. (SXC) network, agree to collect your cost share and send a claim via SXC to CHAMPVA for the remaining amount. However, not all pharmacies are a part of the SXC pharmacy network.
Do providers have to accept Champva?
No! Beneficiaries have many choices when selecting a provider for CHAMPVA. Unlike other health insurance plans, CHAMPVA does NOT have a network of “approved” medical providers. However, it is recommended that the Primary Family Caregiver ask the provider if they accept CHAMPVA insurance.
Who does Champva cover?
CHAMPVA provides coverage to the spouse or widow(er) and to the children of a Veteran who: is rated permanently and totally disabled due to a service-connected disability, or. was rated permanently and totally disabled due to a service-connected condition at the time of death, or.
Can I use Champva as primary insurance?
Can a beneficiary have other insurance (OHI) and use CHAMPVA? Yes. If the beneficiary has other health insurance (OHI), the OHI should be billed first. The explanation of benefits (EOB) from the OHI should then be submitted with the claim for reimbursement to CHAMPVA.
