Cal Poly will enroll students in the campus health insurance plan upon enrollment in classes each term including summer. You are also strongly advised to continue your coverage during school breaks.

Through its collective presence, the California State University system is pleased to be able to offer a selection of medical benefit plans to eligible employees. Employees may choose coverage through either an HMO (Health Maintenance Organization), or a PPO (Preferred Provider Organization).

How much does it cost to apply to Cal Poly?
There is a $70 application fee per campus at the time you submit, unless you qualify for an application fee waiver. The application will notify you automatically whether or not you qualify for a fee waiver at the time of submittal. Make sure you add admissions@calpoly.edu to your contact List.
Does Cal Poly have public health?
Coursework in public health includes community health, epidemiology, global health, health behavior, obesity prevention and treatment, stress and chronic disease. The program offers opportunities for hands-on application through research, field experience and community-oriented outreach activities to promote health.

Why health insurance is important for students?
Health insurance for students policies reimburse expenses incurred due to an unexpected sickness or an accident. In case, you need to be repatriated home for treatment, the plan will reimburse the expenses as per the terms and conditions.

Does UK student visa include health insurance?
International students do not need private medical insurance when studying in the UK, unless they are studying for less than six months, and therefore do not have a student visa. If you need a visa to study in the UK, as part of your application you will pay an Immigration Health Surcharge to gain access to the NHS.
Can college students get Medi Cal?
Students 18 and older are able to apply on their own, however, they may need to provide their parent's information. Often, Medi-Cal will require parents' information, even if you make the application.
